Barcelona - Part II - In Black & White

Finally got enough money to develop the b&w film I took in Barcelona.
So here they go.

I seriously need a negative scanner, getting fed up with the poor quality of my shitty scanner and the fact it gives my b&w photos a sepia tone. Sucky sucky

So if you want to give a good present, get me a good negative scanner, I'll be happy, and my photos much better! :D

The plane trip. Cata e Bé going through the Barcelona tour book or whatever.
Low cost flights kick ass!

Sleeping beauties

This guy was reading a pamphlet that said something like "Advises for Portugueses"... I wonder what it said...

These kids were on an excursion about Gaudi or something. They were cute.

An unusual musician... :)

Cata and Bé.

Cata

Again at the delicious market... One of the sweet stands.... Miam...

The greatest juices on earth! I'm going to buy a juicer just so I can try and make some of those!

Aninhas and Cata. Aninhas, our beloved tour guide, she was kind enough to offer us a roof to sleep under. Great great fun!

My purse got stolen while taking this photo. Stupid habit of leaving my bag open isn't a good idea in Barcelona. Oh well... I like the photo so...

"Our" metro station.

Venice? Nope, BARCELONA!

Le Cirque du Soleil was in town. Was fun to watch. Not really my thing, but it's a pretty show.

In the living room/our bedroom. Mendes, Bé and Cata. Three members of the Fantastic Four ;)

I like repetitive patterns.

Bé trying to put on Cata's ankle bracelet from India.

Thank you guys, it was a wonderful weekend. Had a great time and you are all brilliant people to travel with. I love you guys <3

Final shots before leaving at 5 o'clock in the morning, hence the brilliant focus on the last shot... No, I wasn't sleepy at all.

So this post is dedicated to Aninhas, Cata, Bé & Mendes.

The other photos from this trip can be found here: http://lilamj.blogspot.com/2007/05/barcelona-in-colour.html

Hope this finds you all well, don't forget to leave your comments.

Only Lovers Left Alive

Hey there.

After a 3 week absence, I'm back. Don't know If I'm glad or not, but I'm back.

Was lucky enough to visit 2 new countries, Italy and Serbia, and to go back to my favorite town in the whole world, Sofia, and spend time with some of the people who I love the most.

Finally found the Sx-70 there, an old man was selling it on the street, for 10 euros. I doubt it works, but hey, you never know and it was a nice surprise, have to start playing with it a bit.

Have lots of stuff to scan, upload, look through, etc. So expect new material within the end of the week.

Cheers

Whistle away...

Mr. Fonseca is back, and man, what a comeback!
I feel I'm going to be whistling this tune during all summer waiting for the new album which will be out in October.

Addictive song and great video directed by David himself. Again, congratulations!
For all of you who haven't heard/seen it yet, enjoy the trip through David's dreams, I sure did!

I've always had a thing for red shoes

So, thursday, it was the first concert ever of miss Rita Redshoes as a solo artist, and let me tell you... IT ROCKED!

I knew she was talented and good, but not this much! The only bad thing was that it was too short! Only 4 songs! I wanted more, much more. So Rita... I'm waiting my dear ;)

For those who don't know who Rita Redshoes is, you should, check her out on : http://myspace.com/ritaredshoes

In the meantime just imagine the sweetest girl you'll ever meet with a voice of an angel (I don't believe in angels, but if they did exist, that's what they would sound like!).

So let me walk you through the whole event. Arrived early, around 9, to get a nice spot. They were rehearsing, and I sat with the beautiful Rita (another Rita :P) which I missed a lot (Ritinha minha linda, tens que cá vir mais vezes!). The concert was delayed for about 2 hours, because this sir (portuguese people will recognise him) was late for the debate, at least that's what I think happenned :P.

Finally after a lot of antecipation and waiting, the concert started.
They were looking great! The band, the red boys, were all dressed alike - in black with red shoes and a red tie. And Rita... oh Rita :) Beautiful dress, and those shoes, the shoes!!

So I leave you with some shots of the concert, couldn't move a lot, so this was as good as I could get. (Vasco, não percebo mesmo nada daquela máquina!! eheheheh. Mas não, não te a dou!)

The famous Redshoes ;)

After tidying up :)

So that's that, hope you enjoyed it, sorry for the lack of diversity of the photos, and I apologize to the "red boys" that you can barely see, but you were all in the dark. Next time ;)

Hope this all finds you well!
I'm in need of some vacations and some sun!

Cheers!

Barcelona... in colour

On the last weekend of April, three of my friends (Cata, Bé & Mendes) and I decided to go to Barcelona as a friend of ours, Aninhas, was there doing Erasmus. We couldn't miss the opportunity!
Obviously, I fell in love with the city, the people, the ambiance... everything!
Here's the colour film (Fuji Superia +3 if I'm not mistaken) I took there, still have another b&w film, but have no money to develop it yet :P

Cata ;)

There was a dancing class going on in the middle of a parc. Thought that was pretty great.

These were taken in a market near the Ramblas, the most gorgeous market i've ever been to. I basically wanted to live in i! Don't have many photos because the second time i went there with my camera ready it was basically closing :S. I'll have better luck next time ;)

While Bé and I were waiting for Cata & Ana, we saw these two guys playing with their kids. First we thought it was a gay couple, after a while we realised they were both waiting for their wives. The kids adored each other, it was really cute.

Sunglasses...

Love their cabs, they are gorgeous! Portuguese cabs are the ugliest things ever!

To be continued...

all the children are insane, waiting for the summer rain

i f***** my american c***, i loved my english romance
