An Italian-American Girl in Lisbon

Last August I rented out my office/guest bedroom for two weeks, in order to get by between jobs. I was quite nervous at the time, never having shared my day to day life and apartment with anyone, let alone a stranger. Little did I know that I was about to gain  a friend.

Daniela came to Lisbon to learn Portuguese. She’s an Italian-American living in Paris. Super energetic, sweet & fun to be around, Dani’s visit was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed showing her around my favorite spots in the city, taking her to eat at some cute and delicious restaurants, to concerts and just having her as a housemate.

These are a few shot’s from her stay. I have no idea if there are more in other films. I’ve been lazy with developing films lately…

Lud hanged with us quite a bit as well. Here at Grémio do Carmo. We stayed there all afternoon with Vera & Hugo, with the place all to ourselves. Unfortunately Grémio closed, just a few weeks ago after a very successful year.

Took her to see Filho da Mãe playing live. Of course :).

We also took the boat and crossed to the other side of the river so Lud would show us her favorite spots in Almada’s coast.

And that’s all for today.

I hope to be renting out the room again this summer.

Tondela, oh Tondela.

In July it was Peter’s birthday and to celebrate that legendary event, he invited us to spend the weekend in his hometown, Tondela, a municipality in the central Portuguese subregion of Dão-Lafões.

This trip couldn’t have been in a better and most needed time for me. It was amazing and soul healing.

It’s a beautiful region, breath taking at moments, and I hope I get to go back someday soon.

Here are a few shots from those days.

BCN, my love.

I’ve been a terrible “blog owner”. Ignoring my own blog, as much as I’ve been ignoring photography. In the last 6 months I barely picked up my camera. My uncle once revealed to me that he would only photograph when unhappy. I guess it runs in the family. Not that I was especially unhappy back then, I just wasn’t tremendously blissful, as I’ve been in the last 6 months.
Anyway, enough about that.

Last may I got to return to Barcelona, with Ingrid, for the San Miguel Primavera Sound. I love that city. So full of life & gorgeous. It’s somewhere I could easily see myself living.

The trip, unfortunately, was cut short and ended up only lasting 2 days, but those were 2 amazing days. Great friends, great city & great concerts. Oh, and some shopping too. What else could a girl ask for?

The lovely miss I., and our addiction to Starbucks (and Instagram).

In BCN we stayed at my friend Teresa’s house. She works in a bakery and every night would bring us delicious treats! <3

At the airport, coming back to Lisbon, in a hurry.

And that’s all for today.

I just realized there are no photo’s of BCN per se. I was too busy enjoying it, I apologize. Maybe next time. It’s a good enough excuse to go back…
